Infertility Management in Noida by Dr Bhumika Shukla

Infertility Management

Infertility can be treated through various therapies, from fertility-enhancing medicines and surgical procedures, to changing lifestyle habits like regular exercise, eating healthily and avoiding known toxins that may hinder fertility.

Infertility affects men and women equally and may be caused by various factors. Some causes may be easily corrected while others require professional advice and treatment to resolve.

Ovulation Induction

Ovulation is essential to conception, but can sometimes be interrupted due to an imbalance of hormones. Ovulation induction can be helpful for women suffering from ovulation disorders. Ovulation induction involves using medication to stimulate and strengthen the endometrium (uterine lining). Common treatments include oral medications like Clomiphene or Letrozole which increase levels of hormones that encourage egg production from your ovaries, thus inducing ovulation. Blood tests and ultrasound scans help ensure only one or two follicles develop at any one time, reducing risks of multiple pregnancy while making for more successful IUI or IVF cycles.

Ovulation induction is most frequently utilized by women who experience issues related to ovulation, such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). It may also provide help for patients experiencing unexplained infertility. Patients undergoing induction must be closely monitored afterward in order to avoid potential complications like Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome.

Once a lead follicle has been identified, hCG injection can be used to simulate the LH surge that normally occurs during ovulation. When given intrauterine insemination by sperm, an egg will be released and can then be fertilized by fertilization with in vitro fertilisation (IVF).

Ovulation induction is a popular fertility treatment option for women who struggle to conceive naturally, which affects about 30-40% of infertile women. Ovulation induction provides an easy and effective solution for this issue; once pregnant using this technique, women can enjoy healthy babies without resorting to more invasive measures or IVF procedures. Furthermore, it makes an ideal preparation for these treatments such as IVF treatments.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI (intrauterine insemination) is an in vitro fertilization (IVF) technique in which washed and concentrated sperm is placed directly into your uterus, providing more natural fertilization of eggs outside your body than with IVF alone. Furthermore, this procedure is less invasive and cost effective compared with other forms of artificial insemination such as IVF; each cycle of IUI can cost as little as one quarter of what one cycle of IVF would.

For IUI to work effectively, your partner must possess healthy sperm. The process starts with semen testing to ascertain quality and quantity of sperm; next comes ovulation-stimulating medications to encourage the production of mature eggs; once positive results have been received from ovulation testing, your doctor will proceed with inserting sperm through a thin tube into your uterus.

Sperm is usually introduced 36 hours before ovulation occurs to increase chances of fertilization and maximize chances of successful conception. A surge in LH can signal when this will take place, and oftentimes will indicate when to expect ovulation to happen.

IUI can be an effective treatment option for cervical factor and mild male factor infertility, by bypassing hostile cervical factors and increasing the number of sperm that reach your uterus and fallopian tubes to fertilize an egg.

This method may also be suitable for women with cervical scarring or low sperm count, and combined with ovulation induction. IUIs may be performed multiple times to maximize chances of success and should you need any clarification, please schedule a consultation with Dr Bhumika Shukla through Practo to see if this treatment option suits you best.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVF (in vitro fertilization) is an extracorporeal fertilization of gametes used as a fertility treatment option for couples struggling with infertility for unknown reasons or who have attempted other methods without success. IVF may also help women suffering from severe endometriosis – an uncomfortable condition in which tissue that normally lines the uterus has grown outside its usual place and spreads onto other organs – by producing more gametes to fertilize with.

As part of IVF procedures, doctors will administer medications to increase egg production while ultrasounds monitor follicle development. A minor procedure known as follicular aspiration may then be used to extract eggs from the ovaries before being fertilized in a laboratory and implanted into the uterus.

Occassionally, an IVF cycle fails when eggs fail to implant in the uterus for various reasons, including diminished ovarian reserve, lack of penetration of zona pellucida (an outer membrane that covers each egg), abnormalities with sperm or lack thereof; poor embryo quality or endometrial receptivity among others can all play a part in why it doesn’t take.

Physicians often recommend heparin therapy in order to increase chances of successful implantation. Heparin is a blood thinner which reduces inflammation. Progesterone may also prove helpful; while antibiotics may also be advised in order to protect from potential infection.

Sleeved or tube-shaped uteruses. Some people with these structures may have undergone surgery for cancer treatment or other health issues that damaged their ovaries or fallopian tubes; others have an unusual pelvis shape due to genetic anomalies and cannot become pregnant naturally, in these instances they can use IVF in order to have a baby through surrogacy or donor.

Surrogacy

If you are having difficulty having a baby due to medical reasons, surrogacy may be an ideal option for you. Surrogacy involves implanting male sperm into a surrogate mother’s uterus before carrying your embryo until its birth for you and other intended parents. Surrogacy is a wonderful way to start a family while being highly rewarding for both parties involved – the surrogate mother as well as for themselves!

Egg Donation

Assisted reproductive technology (ART) involves combining a woman’s eggs with donor sperm or embryos in order to facilitate conception. Egg donation may be the solution for women who fail to respond well to fertility drugs or who cannot conceive on their own due to advanced age, diminished ovarian reserve or early menopause; and for those at risk for genetic diseases like cystic fibrosis who cannot have children due to infertility issues – especially those unable to have genetic children at all! ART may help women make conception possible!

Women looking to donate their eggs must undergo rigorous screening before being accepted into an egg donor program. In order to be considered healthy and free of serious diseases, and at least 21 years old – some egg donor programs limit this age as younger donors respond better to fertility drugs and produce higher quality eggs than older donors.

Drug regimens used by physicians to induce ovulation may produce unpleasant side effects, including bloating, abdominal pain and swelling, breast tenderness, moodiness and irregular menstrual periods. Most donors can maintain their normal schedules while receiving hormone therapy treatments from their physician.

Gynaecologists are specialists who provide care to women suffering from reproductive health problems such as pelvic inflammatory disease or ovarian cysts. A gynaecologist may also offer advice regarding contraception, pregnancy and other issues relating to her overall wellbeing, such as endometriosis or fibroids diagnosis and treatment; she can even prescribe medications designed to assist conception or prevent miscarriage.
