Salesforce Consulting Partner Certifications

It’s widely known that using Salesforce can make serving customers, achieving goals, boosting efficiency, and increasing revenue easier. Many organizations turn to Salesforce Partners, who are skilled in developing tailored solutions and integrations, to help them do exactly this.

The network of Salesforce consulting partners has grown over the years, in which you can find both individual consultants and large agencies. They offer expertise in different Salesforce products, industries, and integration capabilities.

You get two different options; to become an accredited professional and/or get regular Salesforce certifications. This is how you can showcase deep knowledge in specific areas of the platform.

What Is A Salesforce Consulting Partner?

As a Consulting Partner, you have the authority from Salesforce to share your unique expertise in Salesforce products, integrations, and industries with customers. This partner program allows you to develop and expand your business by offering these services.

The program consists of various Partner Tiers: Base, Ridge, Crest, and Summit.

These tiers depend on your contribution and performance in four key areas important to Salesforce and its ecosystem:

  • Customer Success
  • Innovation
  • Growth
  • Social Impact

Your performance in each area determines your tier level and the benefits you receive from the Partner Program.

How Do You Become A Partner?

A rigorous selection process; is the first thing you need to understand about your pathway. The only way you can make it through this stage is if you meet specific criteria and provide the necessary information for consideration. This asks for all significant investments in terms of time, training, certifications, and more.

Adhering to the policies outlined in the Salesforce partner program agreement is the initial step toward joining the community.

Here is everything you might need:

  • Agree to and accept the policies outlined in the Salesforce Partner Program Agreement (SPPA).
  • Apply to join the Salesforce Partner Community after accepting the terms of the SPPA.
  • Receive a welcome email from Salesforce with minimum requirements for provisional inclusion in the program.
  • Show them (through proper evidence) that you fulfill all the requirements within 30 days of receiving the welcome email.
  • Salesforce reviews your application, and if they see fit, you’ll be granted provisional partner status.
  • Receive another email from Salesforce outlining the requirements for non-provisional program inclusion, including necessary certifications and fees. You need at least two Salesforce certifications. As of 2023, there are no annual fees, only a one-time enrollment fee.
  • Prove compliance with these requirements.
  • Once compliance is verified and your application is in order, you’ll be admitted to the program at the base level.

What are the different levels of Salesforce consulting partners?

The Salesforce Consulting Partner Program organizes partners into tiers based on their “Trailblazer Score.” This score reflects a partner’s innovation, growth, customer success, and impact (formerly known as “lead”).

Partners who excel in these areas demonstrate their ability to help customers succeed. They are enthusiastic about sales and marketing growth and excel at finding creative solutions to complex problems. They also prioritize inclusion, diversity, and community impact.

There are four tiers to classify consulting partners: Base, Ridge, Crest, and Summit (as already mentioned). Partners are evaluated within the first month after the end of a Salesforce fiscal quarter and receive a score ranging from 0 to 1,000. Higher-tier partners gain access to additional valuable resources, enabling them to elevate their customers’ Salesforce experience.

While there are 30 certifications available, not all are required for partners. The certifications needed depend on your specific requirements and needs. Some important certifications include:

  • Sales Cloud Consultant
  • Community Cloud Consultant
  • Certified Administrator
  • Certified Platform Developer
  • Service Cloud Consultant
  • Integration Architecture Designer
  • Data Architecture and Management Designer

Here are two key tips for success as a Salesforce Partner:

Find Your Specialty: Whatever it is; Salesforce CRM consulting, AppExchange partner, decide which Salesforce products you’ll focus on. By specializing, you can offer targeted solutions and enhance value for your customers.

Stay Agile: Salesforce regularly introduces updates and new features. Stay informed about these changes and adapt smoothly when they come. This may require flexibility in your business processes, but investing in staying current with Salesforce can be highly beneficial if it’s a significant source of your revenue.
